2017 travel goals and wish list

2016 has been a fruitful year, as recently highlighted in one of my posts. 2017 will hopefully be as rewarding.

I am in Madrid, Spain for work right now, and over the weekend I hit my country & territory #73 with the addition of the Bahamas. I am not entirely sure how 2017 will pen out in terms of travels, mostly because my wife and I are getting married in church and will have our real honeymoon this year, most likely in Morocco. That would be country #74 – and we plan to spend a week there touring Fez, Chefchaouen, Marrakech, the desert, Essaouira… with a detour to the French Champagne region. After that, we do not know. Thuy is busy with her new career, and that might limit our outings this year. February 2018 has been earmarked already for our long-planned trip to Rwanda, DR Congo, Zanzibar, and Egypt, and I do not exclude some Central American or Caribbean escape to places like El Salvador, Panama, or Grand Cayman. Another long-standing desire of mine is Guyana, and vacation time allowing that might happen sometimes this year.

As I might have stated before, I aim at visiting 100 countries and territories by the age of 40, and I feel I need to hit 80 by next year if I want to have realistic chances to meet my goal. Hopefully, my wonderful wife will be supportive of this goal of mine, and more magical places will be added soon.

Stay tuned!

    Hi Roberto,

Hope you’re having a great week so far!
Your blog is fun to read because you have a natural style of writing.
Similar to you, I also caught the travel bug (used to work at Delta) and enjoy traveling.
I recently started a travel site and was wondering if it’s possible to use some of your images on my site? (specifically pictures of a product..such as the seats of a business class cabin)
