Excellent airport hotel: Hilton London Heathrow T4

Airport hotels tend to be, in my opinion, pretty standard – even upscale ones. Clean rooms, good breakfast, good gym, yet overall impersonal.

In the past couple of months I stayed at the Hilton Heathrow T5 (which actually is 10 minutes away by Hoppa bus) and, most recently, the Hilton Heathrow T4. Both of them were impressive, but I will comment on the T4 one, as it was overall more impressive and directly connected to the airport by covered walkway.

The hotel is modern, clean, and pretty trendy for an airport hotel (it helps that it has just undergone a thorough refurbishment). The check in area is well staffed, and the lobby is airy and spacious. behind the check in desks are a bar, an upscale Chinese-fusion restaurant, a coffee shop serving Costa (my favorite British brand), and the main hotel restaurant.

As Hilton gold I gained access to the executive lounge. This was on the small side (it got crowded during happy hour), but it offered a great array of cheese, salmon, and hot hors d’oeuvre, plus a good selection of drinks (it was a bit weak on the wine selection, though). Overall, I had “dinner” here both nights I stayed at the hotel.

The room was very well-appointed, with every amenity expected from a luxury hotel, including slippers and bathrobes.

While I stayed at the hotel I also got a (rare) chance to work out. The gym was well-equipped, with a trainer on duty and classes on offer. The changing rooms were spacious and had showers and a sauna.

Breakfast – included as I was a Hhonors gold member – was served at the main cafe’. Both variet and quality were excellent.

I also had the chance to try room service for dessert. The food was delicious, although the portion was a bit pricey and small.

All in all, I really enjoyed my stay at this property. The hotel is top notch, and the fact that it’s connected to T4 makes it quite convenient for transportation purposes. I look forward to stay at this property again!
