China Eastern adds to Boeing misery

China Eastern Airlines today dealt a blow to Boeing by cancelling an order for 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, citing souring economy and repeated delays as cause. While it ordered 45 B737, this is another big setback for the US manufacturer, which is dealing with repeated issues in the last months due to delays in B787 production and by customers switching to Airbus – China Eastern in fact ordered 15 A330 worth around 3b USD.

The delivery of the first B787 to ANA seems to have finally put an end to long delays in the production process of the Dreamliner. Still, customers are concerned about the ultimate delivery date and see other models as more reliable in this regard.
